Supermarkets say "wine with dinner" is a grassroots movement

Those promoting the sale of wine in grocery stores want legislators to believe that their request is the result of a grassroots movement by wine shoppers. It's not!

The proposal before the legislature is about increasing the supermarkets' profits.

Research clearly shows that increasing the number of outlets selling alcohol increases youth access and alcohol consumption. These in turn increase the social and health problems associated with drinking.

A massive expansion of alcohol availability is bad public policy.

Contact your state legislators today and oppose the sale of wine in grocery stores. Let's show the legislature what a real grassroots movement is all about.
