Sid Applebaum
Longtime grocery retailer, founder of Rainbow Foods
|
 |
Sid has seen it all through his many years in the retailing business. The sale of wine belongs in a liquor store. "Convenience" must never compromise the control of alcohol. He has not supported any of the previous efforts to sell wine in grocery stores, and clearly does not support the latest effort. There is no grassroots movement by consumers to purchase wine in grocery stores and there never has been. |

Donald DJ Jackson
Community Developer, Alliance Apartments
DJ sees a different side to the "wine with dinner" campaign promoted by the grocery retailers. It's not about a nice bottle of wine with your meal. It's about people battling alcohol abuse being exposed to daily temptation. Expanding the access of alcohol to youth or adults in his neighborhood would be very detrimental to all of the work he has done to make it a better place to live.
